Confirmation is a two-year learning ministry for our 7th and 8th grade youth.
The purpose of Confirmation is two-fold:

  • To help our young people prepare themselves for a public affirmation
of the faith into which they were baptized. (Confirmation of Baptism)

  • To prepare our young people for a life of following Jesus Christ.

2022 – 2023 Schedule:

You will be given 3 books.  Make sure to bring these to each class!

  • The Lutheran Study Bible with cover. (Your Bible for the rest of your life!)

  • Luther's Small Catechism with Explanation. (CPH 2017 Edition)

  • Journey Through The Bible (Paperback)

Schedule:

The dates for Confirmation Classes vary.  Please print the schedule and put it on your fridge. The calendar can be found by selecting the church logo above.

Requirements:

Attendance:  The youth will attend all classes unless there is an absolutely good reason why they can’t make it.  They should notify the pastor beforehand if they can’t attend.

Sermon Notes:  Students will attend church regularly, listen carefully to the sermons, and write notes and comments on what they heard in the sermon. These will be turned in to the pastor who keeps a record.
20 sermon notes are required for each year of confirmation.

At Least 1 Week Before Class

Students will go to this website and select their church logo.

Find the date of the next class.

CATECHISM READING: Reading the assignment in the Catechism.  Please take your time and really read and think about what's being said.  It's important!

BIBLE READING QUESTIONS: On hold for this year...
Each of the Confirmands has been asked to faithfully read the Bible and to fill out the “Bible Reading Questions” sheets.  These will be handed out on the first day of class.  As their parent, check occasionally to see that the student is doing their work and that their answers are complete and thoughtful.

During Class

We'll visit a bit, review your Bible Reading Questions, view a Video or work through the Workbook, review the Catechism reading, and assess the student's progress.

If you have any questions about Confirmation,
please feel free to contact Pr. Kevin at 701-580-7030 or talk to me after church.
